Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the Vernissage FAQ - a curated space to help you get the most out of your photo sharing experience.
1. Does Vernissage support keyboard shortcuts?
Yes. Vernissage offers extensive keyboard navigation for users to help you move quickly between pages, timelines, and actions.

These shortcuts are designed to enhance accessibility and speed up your browsing - especially helpful for keyboard-centric users.
2. What's the recommended resolution for uploaded images?
Vernissage does not restrict image resolution - only file size matters. You're free to upload high-resolution images as long as the file remains within the allowed upload size.
However, to ensure optimal quality and compatibility across the Fediverse, we recommend uploading images in up to 4K resolution (approximately 3840 x 2160 pixels). This strikes a balance between image clarity and performance and is fully supported across platforms like Mastodon and Pixelfed.
Note:
- Mastodon may display the image as a placeholder link instead of rendering it inline.
- Pixelfed may reject the image entirely if it exceeds 5000px on any side.
For the best visibility and interoperability, keep it 4K or below.
