Back
A vertical nightscape with trees in front of numerous stars. The Milky Way rises behind the trees, and 24 greenish meteors streak down roughly parallel to the Milky Way. Some meteors have a gradient from green towards a reddish yellow. Two trees and the overgrown ground are illuminated by torchlight. The Milky Way near the galactic center is a milky white to yellow band with a black band of dust in its center.

This is what a composition of two hours and 14 minutes of meteors during the peak of the Perseid meteor shower looks like. About 85 meteors per hour were expected where I live, but you can only photograph a small section of the sky, reducing the chance by a lot. In this direction I caught 24 in total. 16 images were used for the Milky Way and two for the foreground.
