This butcherbird followed me from one perch to another. I even saw what I assume is its kid. A juvenile butcher has brownish plumage, which I will upload later.

@crimsonbutterfly Hello, again. Lost count (& track) of yr incarnations. This one's wonderful & impressive, like the photographer (no limit to yr talents!). Oldest friend, retired, now in Melbourne does this full time. Posts to ebird.org (nothing else). Gets paid to do some bird surveys that cover his costs (in Australia) & some travels beyond. 🇵🇭 still on his To Visit list. I'll point him here but he's not into social media.

@crimsonbutterfly Used to see these in the Dandenong Ranges and in Central Victoria every day. Now, in Hobart, I hear them often but never see them.

@crimsonbutterfly Exquisite call. One time, one swooped my son who was a toddler at the time. Left a bleeding gash in his head. I'd never heard of them doing that.

@crimsonbutterfly They’re one of my favourites, yes. And I was surprised to discover one day that they can be great mimics too.
