A paperback copy of "To the Stars," the autobiography of George Takei, rests on a dark surface. The cover features a heroic portrait of Takei looking toward the heavens, dressed in the classic maroon Starfleet uniform from the Star Trek film era, complete with a white turtleneck and silver insignia.
The title is written in large, sleek white letters at the top, while Takei's name stands out in bold gold text across the center. Below that, the text "STAR TREK'S MR. SULU" is written in a stylized white font. Published in 1994, this memoir offers an intimate look at Takei's life, from his childhood spent in Japanese American internment camps during World War II to his groundbreaking career in Hollywood and his later work as a social justice activist. The background of the cover is a deep indigo cosmos filled with tiny, glimmering stars, reflecting the "Star Trek" spirit of exploration and hope.

I was fortunate enough to have met George Takei at FedCon 25 (2016): Held from May 13 to May 16 at the Maritim Hotel in Bonn, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Star Trek.

He was a very kind gentleman indeed. Very warm and caring. I also met his husband, Brad, who was just as charming.

It's a very nice addition to my small book collection.
