Forest landscape with a river meandering through a valley. Tall evergreen trees surround the river on both sides. Gravel and sandbanks are visible in the foreground, with some fallen logs nearby. In the distance, forested mountains rise under a partly cloudy blue sky.

A cool scene from the Lower South Fork Skokomish River Trail 👀

Couldn't decide which orientation/crop I like more—which do you prefer?

I like the landscape view, but panned up with the crop with less empty sand with more tree tops and sky. Great photo, looks like a beautiful place!

@RyanBFramed@pixelfed.social I have mixed feelings about the sand. I would have liked to crop up, but I didn't want to lose the very cool multi-hued water in the bottom-left corner of the frame. Probably shoulda just framed the shot differently in the first place 😅

that water is nice! maybe a more narrow vertical crop in a 9:16 just for the left side would look cool! While less practical for most applications, I do enjoy sharing vertical images in stories and filling the full screen.

@nisemikol the wide shot works better for my brain

To me, the first one looks better, although landscape shows more of this beautiful place :) Is it a particularly low water level for the river on this shot? Or does it "normally" look like that?
