Close-up of two green, bell-shaped flowers hanging from a stem with large, textured green leaves in a sunlit forest setting. The background is softly blurred, showing tall trees and patches of blue sky.

*Prosartes smithii* ([Largeflower fairybells](w.wiki/EJbH)) is often a difficult subject to photograph because the flowers hang below this already low-lying (usually) plant. Have to get down on hands and knees to see the flowers well 👀

@nisemikol I, for one, respect a flower that demands our worship before we’re allowed to perceive it.

sometimes that's the best thing. I have many photos of special plants and flowers that required I got my front, or butt, all wet to get.

Beautiful picture.

@nisemikol Your comments reminded me of this shot - this is one of my favorite plant photos, and required me to lie down full-frontal on wet forest floor to get the shot. 110% worth it.

Monotropa unifloria - also known as Indian Pipe or Ghost Pipe - a rare parasitic plant that only occasionally shows itself as purple-trimmed white flowers, sometimes pink, very rarely reddish.
