I'm pretty sure these are the first and only violet webcaps [Cortinarius violaceus](w.wiki/CDdT) I've ever seen in the wild. Looking at them up close was like looking at the clearest night sky painted onto the large cap of a mushroom: the black of night pierced by a a trillion tiny, bright lights; the veil of an aurora or some other atmospheric phenomenon framing the stars in deep purple. Gorgeous shrooms 🍄💜
