One rather fascinating thing about my local insects is them showing a moderate to strong preference for solitary and wild-grown cherry plums. Those intentionally planted on (largely abandoned) orchards are being partially avoided and at least three of those emit very little scent compared to the wild-grown ones right next to them.

(Case in point, most of the planted ones are dying.)
