A beautiful, earthy close-up of a large, tan-colored bracket mushroom sprouting like a natural shelf from the base of a mossy tree at Herperduin. The mushroom features a smooth, fan-shaped top and a delicately ribbed underside, standing out against the rough, dark bark and the thick, vibrant patches of emerald-green moss that carpet the tree's gnarled roots.
The surrounding ground is a mix of sandy soil, scattered pine needles, and a few crisp, fallen oak leaves, perfectly capturing the quiet, textured beauty of the forest floor. It’s a peaceful, detailed look at the tiny ecosystems thriving among the older trees, showcasing the fascinating natural details found along the woodland trails where Bas recently explored.

Bas allowed me to take one snap of this fungi, growing on a tree at the Herperduin. There were more, but there were sniffs to be had, and Bas doesn't care for fungi 😂.
