A detailed photograph of the façade of the Corte di Cassazione in Rome, taken on October 9th, 2012. The image focuses on an ornate section of the pale beige travertine building, where three sculpted figures stand above a row of classical columns. In the center, a majestic female figure in flowing robes raises a long trumpet to her lips, symbolizing justice or proclamation. Below her, two cherub-like figures sit on either side of an elaborate stone ledge. The cherub on the left leans against a shield, while the one on the right reads from an open book draped with the Italian flag, whose red, white, and green fabric billows outward toward the right side of the frame. Behind the sculptures, a tall arched window with wooden framing contrasts with the carved stone. The architectural details—scrollwork, decorative reliefs, and vertical columns—convey the grandeur and solemnity of Italy’s highest court of appeal.

While on a bus tour through Italy 🇮🇹 with my mum, we visited Rome. Just for a day, way too short...
But while taking the guided tour, I saw this little silly detail, of the flag being draped like a shawl around the statue's neck. So I quickly took a snap... 😊
