Digitized and edited scan of a 35mm film photograph taken in February 2004 from the observatory of the Eiffel Tower, overlooking the historic complex of Les Invalides in Paris. The image has a slightly soft, grainy quality due to the limitations of the original scanner, with subtle tilt-shift–like blur toward the edges. At the center stands the striking gold dome of the Dôme des Invalides, gleaming above the symmetrical stone buildings and courtyards of the Hôtel des Invalides. Surrounding it stretches a dense expanse of Parisian rooftops, pale grey and cream, forming an intricate urban tapestry fading into the atmospheric haze in the background. A black, distressed border frames the image, with small yellow text in the lower right reading “Les Invalides, Paris, France,” and faint branding from Pixlr Photomator appearing on the lower left.

In February 2004, my mum and I went to Paris for a few days. We tried to visit some of the tourist spots. I had a Minolta 35mm camera then. It was a cheaper one. And the weather wasn't the best. I tried to scan the negative of the picture, and edit it as best as I could. I'm definitely a n00b when it comes to that... But I did like the result... 😊
